Que la fiesta comienze!
We arrived at the American Airlines Arena with plenty of time to mingle and find our seats. We wanted to make sure we did not miss a single second of J.Lo’s opening act. And my lovelies, Jenny from the Block did not disappoint. The woman knows how to work a stage and get the crowd hyped. She performed songs from On The 6 “Let’s Get Loud”, Love? “Get On The Floor” and others from her Spanish titled album Como Ama Una Mujer.
After Jennifer Lopez finished tearing the stage up the Fiesta Latina kept going with artists Don Omar, Prince Royce, Marco Antonio Solis, Natalia Jimenez, Camila, Fonseca, Becky G, Voz de Mando, Wisin…
and of course Mr. 305 himself Armando Christian Pérez, aka Pitbull.
I have to tell you that I have not danced and sung this much in a really long time. As a matter of fact, my legs were sore for most of the next day. It was that great of a show.
One of the things I loved most about the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina was being connected to so many other Latinos– el poder de la musica es increible (the power of music is incredible).
We may come from different countries– Panama, Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Republica Dominica, but in the end where your flag’s from doesn’t matter. Our cultura is so deeply rooted in who we are as people, that the connection is palpable. And that, my lovelies, is just absolutely beautiful.
If you missed the concert the first time around, or if you were there and just want to reminisce on a great night, I have great news for you, the concert will be televised on Telemundo, November 15th at 8 pm. Be sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss a single beat.
Until next time, my lovelies,
