Last Saturday I was invited to attend the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina as a guest of JCPenney. As part of the invite, several blogueras and I would be treated to a glam makeover at the JCPenney Glam Suite at the Delano hotel in South Beach. Not bad for a Saturday afternoon, right?
I arrived at the Glam Suite and automatically fell in love with both the view and the array of gorgeousness JCPenney had laid out for us.
Earlier in the month each of the blogueras invited got a chance to choose the outfit she would wear to the concert from the JCPenney x Bisou Bisou collection. I chose their Laser-Cut Pencil Skirt and Short-Sleeve Sequin Lip T-Shirt both in XL. But don’t fret, my lovelies, because earlier this month in L.A. Bisou Bisou designer Michele Bohbot debuted her new plus size collection with sizes ranging from 0X-3X/14W-24W– and it’s lovely, so all curves rejoice!
After getting dressed and being styled to our ultimate chic by the talented Glam Suite styling team we headed over to hair and makeup.
Part of the glam squad at the event included The Salon By InStyle which can now be found in select JCPenney stores– 15 stores to be exact. And South Florida, we lucked out because we have two! One inside the JCPenney at Dadeland Mall and the other inside the Pembroke Lakes Mall. If you live down south like me and head to Dadeland, check out my girl Miguelina Mejia– she glamourized my tresses beautifully!
The third step, to what was an already unbelievable day, was a makeup session with an artist from Sephora. Which I found out are also inside select JCPenney stores– Dadeland & Pembroke Lakes, I see you, you’re becoming glamazon havens.
My Sephora makeup artist (first from the right) was not only talented but explained everything she was doing, from the misting face spray to the steps she used to put my eyebrows on fleek. I was on two hours of sleep and I know my eye bags put her skills to test, but like a true professional she stepped up and worked her magic.
I’m always wary about makeup products feeling heavy on my skin and I don’t like wearing makeup that makes me look like someone else. I mean I want to look just as dolled up as the next gal, but I still want to see me behind it all. I loved that after she was done my skin felt refreshed and if I say so myself, I looked pretty dang good.
I was also lucky enough to spend the day with Nichole Fratangelo from Latina Magazine and Monique (one of my new bffs in my mind) from Curves and Chaos who had flown down from Los Angeles for the event. These two chicas were so down to earth and sweet, their company added to the awesomeness of the day.
After everyone finished getting all dolled up and were looking all kinds of chic, it was time to leave the Delano and head over to the American Airlines Arena for the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina…
Don’t worry, my lovelies, I won’t leave you hanging. Part 2 is coming soon. Meanwhile, you can check out some more photos of the JCPenney Glam Suite event below. Until next time,
