I am Living Proof

Last month I received an email from Living Proof asking if I would be interested in trying out their Curl Collection products. After doing a little research on their brand and their products I gladly jumped at the chance.

If you are unfamiliar with the Living Proof brand, here are 3 things you should know about them:

1. The company is co-owned by Jennifer Aniston

2. They cater to wavy, curly and coily hair as well as straight hair.

3. Their company philosophy is:

We are not a traditional beauty company.
We are more than that.
We believe in rethinking conventional wisdom.
We believe when you can’t find something that works, you invent it.
We believe the answers are found in science.
We believe that beauty and brains are the best formula.
We believe a product should keep its promises.
We believe every day can be a good hair day.
We believe beauty is more than skin deep.
We believe in day-making, bliss-creating, confidence-boosting results.
We believe you are the living proof.

I waited a month to write this product review because I wanted to truly input their products into my hair care routine and see what the results would be. Now when I was asked to try the products, Living Proof and I did not agree on any posts or social media sharing. I made no commitments to them whatsoever. Only after using their products for 2 weeks did I reach out back to them and told them I loved their Curl System so much that I wanted to share it with my readers.

Their Curl System consists of 5 products, I tried 4 of the 5: The Curl Conditioning Wash, Curl Detangling Rise, Curl Leave-In Conditioner, Curl Enhancing Styling Mousse– the 5th product is their Curl Defining Styling Cream.

Now, I really put Living Proof to the test this month. My hair is in a complete natural state, it’s been Keratin-free for over 6 months. And I have to say that Living Proof aced the test– this stuff loves my hair, and my hair loves it right back. The first thing I noticed was improved curl definition and bounce. The Co-Wash does a good job of cleaning my hair, it also has a nice scent. Actually all of the products have a nice scent, no funky residue smell at all. The Detangling Risne is awesome. My hair is fine but there’s a lot of it so I tend to go through half of a conditioner bottle while detangling. However, with just 2 quarter size drops I detangled just as easily with my fingers as I did with my wide-tooth comb– my arms thank you for that Living Proof.

Out of the entire collection the Leave-In Conditioner was definitely my favorite product. I used it after Co-Washing and for my daily touch-ups with not a lot of product build up which was a big plus. The only product I was hesitant about was the styling mousse. I’m not a big fan of mousse because of it’s “crunchy” effect on my hair, but their Curl Enhancing Styling Mousse changed my mind completely. It gives you great hold and adds shine without the crunchy/drying after effect. Oh! and how could I forget, my curls were not only prettier but also frizz-free.

Overall, Living Proof turned out to be a fabulous surprise and I would definitely recommend their Curl Collection to all of my curly haired sisters out there. If you’d like to give them a try you can find their products at Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Nordstrom and on LivingProof.com

Until next time, my lovelies.

    1. Hi Sydney! I’ve noticed such a change in my curl bounce thanks to their Curl System, I would definitely love to give their PHD line a try, I think it would be great for my flat iron days.

And THANKS! The jacked is from The Gap, I got it from their outlet store last year for only $19! I think it was a pretty awesome shopping score if I do say so myself.

Thanks for dropping by, reading & commenting Sydney! 🙂
