Sports England’s new campaign — This Girl Can

The campaign serves to remind the world that women’s bodies are supposed to move when they move. And that skinniness does not always connote health.”  [via]

7 Times the Visible Belly Outline Made an Appearance — And Totally Inspired Me to Celebrate My Curves

All hail the VBO! — “So 2014 felt like the year that plus-size babes showed off their midriffs. Crop tops were everywhere in curve fashion, and that sigh of relief you heard was definitely at the sliver of skin between my boobs and belly button finally getting a breath of fresh air. From what I’ve been seeing on social media and on plus-size fashion blogs, it looks like the VBO might be getting its moment now, too. What does VBO stand for, you ask? Visible Belly Outline — you know, the shape that a nice rounded belly makes in clothes.”

Unconditional Body Beautiful is a new self-love series created by Rebequita Rose — “It is a year long collaboration  which I created-slash-founded, and I will be doing this with with many other bloggers…We will focus mostly on discussing our bodies more than on fashion, but at the same time we will fuse the two together.”

In the first installment of the series we discussed My Body & I From The Beginning:

Exercising For Health VS Exercising To Be Skinny

by Darla G Denton

Exercising for fun, instead of obsessing over the numbers on the scale is definitely the body positive way to focus on health — “Honestly, you should never measure your health against what the scale says. When you step on that thing you are not only weighing your fat but everything else in your body (organs, blood, bones, etc…). Instead, measure your health against how you feel inside.”

Target to launch new plus size line AVA & VIV

Target announced the launch of it’s first in-house designed plus size line– in stores February 22nd. The excitement was big since days before the release of the AVA & VIV lookbook we found out Target had tapped some of our favorite plus size bloggers (Chastity Valentine, Gabi Gregg & Nicolette Mason) for input. Also, most of us were psyched to find out that the new line will be available in stores and online– a big improvement from the online only alternative Target had dropped on us earlier with their Lilly Pulitzer collaboration.

First looks of the line came with high expectations, however after the official lookbook dropped reactions were mixed.  Although the line includes some lovely pieces (see below) other pieces were clear misses. But this is the first season for AVA & VIV, so let’s see what they have in store for the fall season under the guidance of the dynamic curvy trio.
