Sun is Shining

“The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination and brings eternal joy to the soul.” ― Wyland

There is something pretty amazing about listening to ocean waves and feeling rays of sunshine on your skin. I know here in Florida we’re a tad spoiled since we get to enjoy pretty spectacular weather year round (don’t envy us that much though- we pay the price with humidity and hurricane season).

But most cities are finally defrosting from what seemed like a never ending winter and back to back nor’easters, so ladies! it’s time to start talking summer.

This was the first time in 7 years (yep! I said 7) that  I hit the beach in a swimsuit and ladies, it was just fabulous! Like me, I know a lot of you out there might hesitate – maybe because you’ve gained a little weight or dread bathing suit shopping. But this summer you have to do it for yourself. Put those fabulous curves in a bathing suit, head out to the closest patch of sand and let the sunlight hit your glorious skin.

Leave all your insecurities and the self-judgment at home, better yet! kick those bastards out the door. I tell you, letting go of all the mental baggage and just enjoying the cool breeze and sunshine was liberating.

And if this is your first time in a long time hitting the beach there are some fabulous swimsuit options for both different tastes and budgets. Here are a few of my favorite styles this season:

So this summer before you talk yourself out of  some fun in the sun…Don’t! Find a swimsuit you love and grab a good book or some girlfriends and head out to the closest beach and enjoy yourself. Don’t let your insecurities or thoughts of not being “beach ready” get in the way. You know what you need to be beach ready? A body and a swimsuit…that’s it! Everything else is just crap.

We’re only a few weeks away from summer, so when you’ve finally defrosted I hope you go on and have a great time. And if you spot me at the beach, don’t forget to say Hi!

I now leave you with some vibes to get you in that summer-kinda-mood:
